Randomly Seat 16 Workshop Participants

A workshop has four tables with four labeled places each. The facilitator needs table and seat labels for name tents.

Try This Example

Opens a demo with sample data in a new tab. Your saved lists, settings and history stay in your regular workspace.

Set up the input

Run the example

Set Seats per row to 4. Treat Row 1 through Row 4 as Table 1 through Table 4 and number places clockwise from the aisle at each table. Select Assign seats and download CSV.

Example output

Illustrative result. A new draw can produce a different selection or order.

RowSeats in order
11. 16 · 2. 14 · 3. 12 · 4. 10
21. 8 · 2. 6 · 3. 4 · 4. 2
31. 1 · 2. 3 · 3. 5 · 4. 7
41. 9 · 2. 11 · 3. 13 · 4. 15

Check the result

Each table gets four unique assignments. For example, Row 3 / Seat 2 means the second place at Table 3. Keep the table-to-row key with the export. For fixed or accessible seats, handle those assignments separately and map the generated positions to the remaining seats.
