Translate a 5×5 Seating Chart to Consecutive Seat Labels

A training room has 25 chairs labeled 1 through 25, while the tool reports row and seat coordinates.

Try This Example

Opens a demo with sample data in a new tab. Your saved lists, settings and history stay in your regular workspace.

Set up the input

Run the example

Assign 25 participants with five seats per row. Convert each output coordinate to the physical chair label by taking five times the number of completed rows and adding the seat number.

Example output

Illustrative result. A new draw can produce a different selection or order.

RowSeats in order
11. 24 · 2. 22 · 3. 20 · 4. 18 · 5. 16
21. 14 · 2. 12 · 3. 10 · 4. 8 · 5. 6
31. 4 · 2. 2 · 3. 1 · 4. 3 · 5. 5
41. 7 · 2. 9 · 3. 11 · 4. 13 · 5. 15
51. 17 · 2. 19 · 3. 21 · 4. 23 · 5. 25

Check the result

Row 3 / Seat 2 maps to chair 12. The first coordinate maps to chair 1 and the last to 25. Check for gaps or duplicate chair labels before sharing the list. For fixed or accessible seats, handle those assignments separately and map the generated positions to the remaining seats.

Open the regular Random Seating Chart.
