Separate Discussion Group Assignment From Reading Prompts

A seminar has three reading prompts and wants random membership while assigning the harder prompt to a group with facilitator support.

Try This Example

Opens a demo with sample data in a new tab. Your saved lists, settings and history stay in your regular workspace.

Set up the input

Run the example

Prepare the prompt cards separately. Make three groups of six, then assign one prompt to each numbered group and write the prompt on the exported or copied group list.

Example output

Illustrative result. A new draw can produce a different selection or order.

GroupAssigned entries
1 (6)18, 12, 6, 1, 7, 13
2 (6)16, 10, 4, 3, 9, 15
3 (6)14, 8, 2, 5, 11, 17

Check the result

The tool allocates all 18 participants once. Prompt assignments are separate decisions, so swapping two prompts does not require rerunning the membership draw. Group size is balanced. Skills, ages and other characteristics are not used in the assignment.

Open the regular Random Group Maker.
