How to Pick Students Fairly

Prepare an eligible roster and give each entry the same odds.

Agree on the pool

Check attendance before starting. If two learners share a first name, use an initial or keep both rows and read the row number shown beside each duplicate. One row per eligible learner gives everyone the same chance.

Give everyone a turn

Keep No Repeat enabled when asking each student to contribute once. For 24 students, each has a 1 in 24 chance on the first pick. If someone passes, record it separately and decide in advance whether they can rejoin later.

Explain the reveal

Let a volunteer choose a moving card. The tap triggers a fresh random sample from the eligible roster. You can show the remaining count so learners know how many turns are left.

Try Moving Card Picker or return to all guides.
